"All days are nights to see till I see thee, And nights bright days when dreams do show thee to me"

Missing one another is very common in our relationship. At this time it is particularly difficult because Nicholas and I did not get to see each other this weekend. Nicholas had to work the day shift on Saturday and Sunday, which meant that if I were to go over his place we could spend the evening together but Nicholas would be up at 6AM to go to work. While he does get out at 3:30PM, hanging around the Nicholas’ house is not the ideal situation. I always feel like I should not be there, and also, I do not accomplish anything. I can’t go to the gym, go to yoga class, apply to jobs, see any of my friends, etc.

This weekend we spent the time a part. I wound up going to the gym, yoga, and seeing all my close friends. Nicholas was able to relax after work and one day he hung out with one of his friends. Nicholas also took up origami! Nicholas and I are currently watching the second season/final season of “Dead Like Me” and at one point in the show a character makes an origami swan for the main character, Georgia Lass, who he has a crush on. Nicholas noted that origami would be an awesome skill to have, and, one that you could do anywhere as long as you had paper. He then resolved to make origami one of his hobbies. I thought he was joking, but while we were talking on the phone this weekend I reminded him of his newfound origami aspirations and that day he went to Michael’s Craft Store and bought origami paper that came with directions. A few hours later I received a picture of his first creation.

“I would not wish any companion in the world but you”

I had this idea to start a couple’s blog because my boyfriend Nicholas and I have been together for over four years now and I wanted to start keeping a log of our activities and fun times we have together.

Nicholas and I met through an online dating site. He contacted me on the site on May 16, 2005 to state his interest, and because of this he has the credit of finding me. I will always be able to say, “I’m so lucky you found me” to which he can respond “Damn right!” We are definitely very blessed to have each other, and I know we both can not imagine what our lives would be like if we never met.

While we are very much in love, we are only able to see each other an average of two times a week. This is mostly due to the distance between our homes, but more so to the fact that I have yet to find a full time job that would make living together a possibility. Hopefully something will work out soon to make this dream a reality, but until then I am happy to have this blog to help capture our life together.
